Some information about the Abt. 301:
PWs from 2. FJD captured south of DINGEN:
On 6 April they were suddenly called to make a counterattack in vicinity of DINGEN. As support, they had 3 Tiger tanks, two of which were later seen by PW going toward the south.
PW states that he saw 3 “Tiger” tks in a repair shop in Muehlheim 10 days ago.
5 Uhr: Die Kämpfe konzentrieren sich auf Lütgendortmund. In dem Stadtteil stoßen die Alliierten auf die heftigste Gegenwehr während der gesamten Einnahme Dortmunds. Deutsche Einheiten lassen am Morgen Tiger-Panzer zur Verteidigung auffahren, verschanzen sich am Bahndamm in Richtung Bövinghausen.
9.02 Uhr: Die Alliierten greifen die am Bahndamm von Lütgendortmund verschanzten Tiger-Panzer aus der Luft an. Zwei Panzer werden durch Jagdbomber abgeschossen.
PW Schwarz, Hohann
PW was captured N of Lutgendortmund 7223, 2100 9 april after his Tiger Tk was destroyed. Pw states that he thinks that it was an AT gun or another tk that did the damage.
The Bn had heavy losses in the past, and now has only one line Co with about 10 to 12 Tiger tks. Some men in the Bn were sent to inf units after their tks were shot up. PW states the tks were in very bad shape and that very often half of them were in for repairs. The Bn was previously committed at Julich and Duren, and has been retreating steadily ever since.

PW said he saw 5 or 6 tks, Panther or Tiger, going S into the town proper shortly before he was captured, and some Armored scout cars.
