The company was transported to Innsbruck in late July 1943 and crossed the Brenner Pass from Austria to Italy, en route to Bozen. The gallery holds several photos of what appears to be an overnight camp during the crossing, beside the railway.
Following the railway in Google, it is possible to identify the location as just north of the village of Brenner itself, on the Austrian side of the border. Looking back towards Innsbruck, the distinctive mountain is the Padauner Kogel.
Post-war the area has changed considerably. These streetview images are slightly east and west of the original location but serve to demonstrate the development which has occurred.
