It's "Hackzurrung" - it was mounted from Fgst.Nr.250635 to Fgst.Nr. 250876 - it was "official" modification. (info from "D.W. to Tiger I..." by Jentz&Doyle)

About Tigers #212 and #234 - caption of 234 are grab from film made by PK in Kursk peroid, there are also #200 #201 and other tanks from 505, there are photo of rebuilded PzKpfw IV to Bridgecarriers with cameraman in background, the terrain on mentioned photo is also similar to this showed on photos with #234 (hills).
Then, I think, Hartmut is right that this tanks belongs to 505.

BTW:
I was traied determinated if there are any relation in numbering style between old (whith PzKpfw III) and new organization (only Tigers), like, "old" Tigers in one numbers style, new ones in another, but is't good way.
My only conclusion was with Tigers #II and #III (as we state before this is the same tank) - in old organigrams stab kompanie is showed in this way: I - Tiger; II - Tiger; III - PzKpfw III, maybe after reorganization PzKpfw III was replaced by Tiger II in new role - #III?

It's not "301" form 507 Augenzwinkern - If You look closely to turret there are number "312" on this tank matching in style to 503 (i wrote about this photo in 506 topic).
We have photo of this tank in repair depot in Sanok:

probably, during repairs, stowage bin from 507 was added to this tank.

EDIT:

BTW sPzAbt 507 had only late prod. Tigers, this one is early prod.

This one is very interesting! In front is indeed a Tiger in Hungarian service and you see Hungarian crewmen and infanterymen on the tank. Behind is a Tiger with german crew and while the Hungarians were trained by 503 and 509, this should be a Tiger of one of this units...but...it look indeed like a 506 emblem on the turret bin. I guess you don´t have this pic in better quality?

We have similar situation with photo "312" & "323" from sPzAbt 503/Kampfgruppe Mittermeier during Hungarian crews training, where we have "312"
carring stowage bin numbered "301" from sPzAbt 507 (probably added after repairs in Sanok), maybe we have analogical exemple here - tank from 503 with stowage bin from 506?

It should be in 505's topic, but:

It's seems that 505 is nightmare of identification when we taken numbering system.

BTW Maybe it's good idea to make topic like "Tips&Tricks of identification" where we all share our knowledge about not well known nuances of units? Like: Somwhere i read nice post about system of carring spare tracks on bottom front hull (i dont remember exactly) like - 2-segment 3-segment 5-segment - mostly 503, 4,4,4 - mostly 502... etc.

You mean "233" as i assume from photo. Augenzwinkern

I don't think so, compare front plates:

Upper - XX3 other camo + insignia
Lower - 233 i can't see insignia

It is "fast made" now, by me, but i think it is precise.

Well known photos from night action on the russian front:

In books they are described as tanks from 1 SS, but for me the numbering style match to 502 in 44/45 peroid (in "SXX" system from 1 SS the numbers are much bigger).
I have only this poor quality photos, but:
On first photo we can see "21" and, as i think, "2" as third digit.
On third one last digit is "4".

What do you think?

13 & 2 18.05.2008 15:04 Forum: sPzAbt.506

Hi,

"13" from 1. Kompanie:

"2" from 2.Kompanie (in foreground) with "13" from 1. Kompanie in background (third one).

Its mach with:

First - red "2", N/A, and white "13".

and probably with

From foreground:
First (not seen) red insignia - "2",
second N/A - red insignia,
last one white insignia - "13".

We have probably another match with:

If some one can post this one in bigger resolution (or give me info where i can find this one), then we probably see emblems on first tank.

EDIT:
OK. I found this photo in TIC I, but i have "economical" book from Stackpole and nothing is visible in this photo. Then please to post/mail it to me.

Another find:

The same style we can see on "222" in gallery:

------
About this one:

J. Restayn states that is "231" (Tigers on the eastern front. page 70) and i think he is correct:
at first photo we can see "2" on turret
at second: "2" upper part of "3" and upper begining of "1" on stowage bin
in next three we have camo match
BTW
I don't have last two photos in bigger resolution, if someone can give me info where they can be found (or send it to me by mail) i will be glad.
